"Today was finally the day, Lui could finally go to the Oceanfront Town professor and ask for a Pokemon!"
Lui had long awaited the day that he could yell out those words on repeat and irritate his neighbors (even more so than he had already been doing for the past few years). A few of the town's elders were glad to see the town ruffian run off and run after whatever precious little dream he had kept talking about. Others supported lui and the pursuit of his dream fully, his dream being to climb up the ranks of a Pokemon trainer, becoming the champion of his region before finally obtaining the title of "Pokemon Master". He'd eagerly run off at noon towards the Town Lab, pushing his way through crowds of people, his blue scarf and blond hair waving in the wind.
His fists would soon be banging on the Lab's door, Lui himself yelling for the professor to "come on out". It'd take a few minutes, seeing as the assistants and the professor himself were still preparing for the actual presentation of the three Pokemon. As soon as the door's opened though, Lui's impulsive nature rushed him into the futuristic hub of research. The professor was taken aback by the uncanny speed of the young man dashing straight for him and the three ball's he'd just set down on the table. He'd stutter slightly before readjusting his glasses and starting- "Oh uh.. YES!... Welcome young trainer.... today marks a very special day in your life when you first establish your bond with Pokemon. This day indeed symbolizes-" The professor went on, Lui zoning out whilst staring blankly over at the three ball's sitting mere feet away from him.
He'd tune back into the professor's speech a few minutes later, hearing- "And now.. you choose... will you take Budew, Charmander, Or Mudkip...". "What an odd selection...." Lui thought, before asking a question he'd prepared in advance quickly- "Which one would you consider the weakest professor?". The professor answered pretty quickly, stating "Budew". He'd then motion over to the poke balls once more, Noticing Lui's brief smile before hearing lui yell- "Budew!!.. i choose you!!" . The room was somewhat surprised, they hadn't expected the weakest to be chosen, though that initial shock would soon fade, being drowned out by the professors, and his assistants loud clapping as Budew unwillingly jumped out of its pokeball and onto the floor in front of Lui. Lui and Budew would stare at each other in silence for a while, Before the silence finally being broken by Lui, who with a smile Told Budew.
"So you're the weakest huh?... lets change that then.. ill make you the dang strongest out of these three yet"- To which Budew responded with a determined look, and a confident "Budew" cry. The two soon left the lab, still being applauded as they left.
"Remember this Budew... we will be champions!"
