Hallow's breathe was heavy as he ran, holding his trainer bag in his arms to reduce the sway, allowing him to run faster. His first pokemon, in the flesh! He had to make a good impression, of course, so their bond could grow stronger. He had heard that pokemon without a strong bond typically ignore their trainer, for what could be many reasons. he'd heard many stories from sad to just plain strange. Pokemon can retaliate for many reasons, such as the trainer not proving his worth for such a strong pokemon so they lazily do anything during combat, or maybe in another case, they catch the pokemon against their will and taking them from their home without even befriending them. Hallow had heard one story where an group of trainers (or rather hunters, in this case), trapped pokemon with awful traps and shoved them into cages until the agreed to cooperate. This practice had gone on for several months until a pokemon ranger caught up to them and had them arrested, those dirty fiends... He didn't want that for Snivy.
